Cinder jumped off of Miranda's shoulder, eager to have his first battle! He sniffed Salem a bit before givving him a small lick.
"Cinder, that's your opponent! Get ready to fight!"
Cinder immediately jumped away from Salem and gave a little bark. Growling, he quivered a bit, then...PEPPER SPRAY!

Unfortunately, the powder Cinder coughed out went astray, and the attack missed! Cinder gave a little grumble in disappointment.

Salem smiled at the other pup as the attack missed him. "Is that all you got? Watch this! Sta' Light!"

Salem's attack hit, but he was shocked when he noticed it didn't do as much damage as he thought.
"A Mind type eh? I guess I'll have to be mo'e ca'eful if my attacks only do half damage!"

Cinder winced as the attack hit dead on, causing him to fly backwards. He noticed that the attack didn't do as much damage, but boy did it hurt! Taking a sip of mountain dew for energy, he growled menacingly at the opponent and jumped at Salem!

Cinder jumped at Salem, but he missed, diving headfirst into the ground! He winced, crushed his attack missed again.
"C'mon Cinder! You can do it!"

Salem hopped about as the other pup missed again. He knew this was a battle, but he couldn't help but feel a bit bad.
"Come on buddy! You can do it! Watch how a 'eal p'ofessional does it! Sta' Light!"

Salem's smirk fell when he saw this own attack miss.
"Well, uh, that's an example of what not to do! Yeah, that's it!"

Cinder just managed to evade the attack by the tip of his ear! Rolling on the floor to dodge, he enjoyed the rolling for a bit before realizing what he was doing.
"Um...Cinder? Can you attack please? Haha..." Cinder realised desperate times called for desperate measures, so he used Telekenisis to pick Salem off the ground and spin him violently!

Finally, a hit! Cinder was very proud! He eventually tired himself out, and had to put Salem down. Psychic powers were hard to use, and he was to young to use them effectively.
"Good job, Cinder!"
He yipped, jumping up and down, taunting his opponent.

Salem landed dizzily on the ground, trying his best to regain his posture. He could tell the other pet's attack did double the damage to him. He should have known better than to challenge a pet with a type advantage. He wasn't about to give up now, though. "St-sta' light!"

(By the way, with Cinder's defense, I think he would have only taken 13 damage (13+15=28-2=26/2=13), so I believe then his HP should be 56, not 55!)

Salem wasn't able to aim, and missed. Frowning, he braced himself for the opponents next attack.

Cinder trembled in fear. That attacked looked super powerful! He realised he was so lucky to have avoided it, and that his opponent must be really strong. The pup tried to regain his composure, and tried not to look weak to his opponent.
"Cinder, please be careful!"
The wuffpup decided to try his first attack again. Pepper spray!
