"ARGH! ALL THIS WAITING IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!" Teak exclaimed. They'd only been waiting for a few minutes, but Teak was already growing anxious.
"Calm down. They'll be here as soon as they can," Cole reasoned. " If you're bored, why don't you just lay down and take in the sun or something?"
"IF I TAKE IN ANY MORE SUN, I'LL SHRIVEL UP!" he complained, reaching for the water bottle in Cole's bag.
He was right. It was only high noon, and the heat was already sweltering as it was. They couldn't stand here forever. Sighing in exhaustion, Cole handed Teak the bottle, sprayed on some more sunscreen, and found some shade for them to sit in until their opponents arrived.
"Now remember Teak, these two are real protessionals," Cole warned. "They're already enlisted in the war. We're going to have to be careful if we want to beat them. And even if we do, we'll still need a lot of training until we reach their level." Cole continued to spread on sunblock, being exceedingly careful not to get any on Teak's photosynthetic skin.
"DON'T WORRY, COLE. I GOT THIS."
"Do you, Teak? Do you really?"
"WELL, NO, BUT WE'LL WIN. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!"
"Lot's of doubt, actually, but whatever."
