Basil gets ready, his fluffy white Russian hat slipping ever so slightly due to his euphoric bouncing about.
As much as he'd like to do the first strike, he knows Eps wouldn't be very pleased with his lack of manners and so waits for his opponent to make the first move.

"Alrighty then." Gamux says, eyeing his opponent suspiciously. "Vikrog, dig!"

Vikrog chirrups in response, quickly tearing through the ground. Silence stands for a few moments, then he erupts from the ground behind Basil with a shower of grit. He knocks his opponent in the back with a fierce headbutt before disappearing again, popping back up near his original position.

Basil squeals in surprise and winces when he hits the ground due to the force of attack.
He quickly gets back up and snarls.

"Ok Basil, use Rocky Projectiles!"

Basil starts spitting out bullet sized rocks at Vikrog.

((You know you can 'Post Reply' instead of 'Quick Reply' to use Battle Phases right? That way the Game Master will be able to calculate the damage you do to your opponent.))

((Ok, go to Post Reply. Underneath the text box there's something called Battle Phases which is composed by "Battle Phases #1" and "Dice Rolls" If you have enough attack points you can roll the dice 2 times or more depending on how much you have. And you can toggle down on the list in Battle Phases#1 to select what you want, for example "Physical Damage" which is the one I chose. That way it'll be easier for the Game Master to show how much damage you did or how much damage you sustained. Then you just subtract HP points depending on how much damage your opponent did.

You can also go to the General Information Section and then head for the Battle Stats and Combat Explained thread to learn more about battling. It's also suggested you read the Competition rules in case you missed something important that was announced, along with the new Dice information that was added recently! ))

(( ah okay there it is! i read the how-to stuff and just presumed we gave an indicator as to whether it was physical or magical damage or something and then they'd use a RNG and flip an actual coin then relay the results back into the forum. gosh i'm dumb sorry!! do you mind if we start this again? i'll just copy pasta... i'm p sure i'm allowed to roll two times uh i hope i'm doing this right... ))

(( It's fine friend, I had trouble on my first battles as well! I'm still pretty bad at it too and don't quite understand how coins work so uh, since you rolled twice I guess one of them missed? Uhh...correct me if I'm wrong :s ))

Still blinking the dust out of his eyes, Vikrog takes the brunt of the attack and suffers some severe damage, though manages to deflect some harmlessly off his helmet.

"Its alright buddy, just pick yourself back up!" Gamux encourages. "Use your elemental ability!"

Vikrog takes a deep breath, closing his eyes, focusing on his elemental core and drawing the power from it. He glows and flashes like polished silver, then...

(( haha whoops messed up again uh u_u;;; yeah i only put one coin instead of two. might as well count one of them as a hit, let me get SOME damage in before you completely wreck me, yeah? : P i hope i get a good bonus jitters about nervously ))

(( It's fine, also if you have elemental disadvantage you do 2X on the damage you received. It's a little difficult to get used to at first but it'll be easier as you go along. ))

Basil watches as his opponent seems to shine and harden ever so slightly. He may have an advantage over element, but one could never be too sure when in a fight with a stranger. They could be stronger then they looked.

"Looks like he's using his elemental bonus, try to use Geo Slide on him!"

"Ok!"

Basil didn't have much practice with this move, but considering the ground wasn't sandy, he was fairly confident in it's use.
Quickly he dug his little limbs in the ground and began to slide across the ground, flinging debris as he quickly made his way to Vikrog in what looked like the mother of all tackles.

"He's down! Now, Vikrog, slice and dice! Use your flash cannon!"

A sphere of light appears between the horns on Vikrog's helmet, and, piece by piece, his coat of shining energy peels away and joins it, until the swirling mass becomes so large it looks like it might engulf the little yogpet. It suddenly shoots a beam directly at Basil. The glittering sword follows suit, making a beeline for his opponent.

(( okay... i dont know how the elements match up but im presuming you have an advantage over me? mind you, it does seem a tad unfair that you can obliterate 80% of my HP in one move though :c meanwhile im gonna cross my fingers and hope at least one these hits big ))

Basil looks up in time to see the energy coming right at him. He screeches when it hits him full force and is thrown back quite a few feat.

"Oh god! You ok Basil?!"

Basil gets back up and shakes himself a bit.

"Good, now use Chomp on him!"

Basil runs at Vikrog and opens his mouth wide, biting down at his opponent as hard as possible.

((Yep, I have elemental advantage since Basil is a Earth Yogpet. It's also alright, I don't want the battle to be easy at all, I want it to be a challenge since this is a tournament. That's what makes it fun!))
